We all met at A Square at 07H00 to be transported to Parys in a taxi and Forkie 1. Goody bags filled with snacks (Thanks Craig and Evol), cold drinks and water were the order of the day...sounds strange "no alcohol", but safety first - no drinking before rafting. We arrived at the venue and had to complete indemnity forms before venturing out. This caused three people not to participate as they felt more at ease on terra firma.

The apprehensive ones bravely donned their helmets and life jackets with the rest of us and proceeded to our launch site. Larger Ark inflatables were used, 6 people per unit and 1 crew member. We experienced 2 rapids in our 1 hour trip, some on one boat were hanging on the ropes instead of rowing, but all survived the expedition and those non swimmers who joined were extremely proud to have taken part. It was fortunately beer time and the conversations were ongoing in groups about their rafting experience. We then went into the town of Parys and visited the Pickled Pig Pub for a few more drinks before proceeding to the Dog and Fig for lunch, and beer tasting of craft beer made by them. The afternoon was nearing an end. All of us having had a great day, were a lot quieter on the return trip but what an experience for all and we look forward to the next Okes day, whatever we may undertake.
